When Hearts Collide Again - Chapter 3

Chapter 3 – Clash of Words, Clash of Hearts

Two hours into the meeting, the tension was unbearable.

“I believe Raychand Enterprises should hold the controlling stake,” Aditya stated firmly.

“With all due respect, Mr. Raychand,” Aditi’s eyes locked with his, unwavering, “your company may have the capital, but ours has the innovation. We deserve equal control.”

His lips curved, not into a smile but into something sharper. “You still hate losing, don’t you, Aditi?”

The sound of her name in his voice made her heart skip a beat. But she recovered instantly, her expression icy.
“And you,” she countered, “still confuse arrogance with confidence.”

The room went silent.

A junior executive coughed nervously. “Sh-should we… continue after a short break?”

Both nodded stiffly.

As the others filed out, Aditya stood by the window, his hands in his pockets. Aditi gathered her papers, pretending to be busy.

Finally, his voice broke the silence.
“You’ve changed.”

She didn’t look up. “People do, when they learn not to rely on others.”

He turned, his gaze piercing her. “Is that how you justify running away?”

Her head snapped up. “I didn’t run away, Aditya. You pushed me.”

The words hung between them—unfinished, unhealed.
