It happened on an ordinary morning. Aditi entered with breakfast and found his eyes open — hazy, confused, but open.

The nurse called the doctor, voices filled the room, and Aditi stood frozen.

When they were finally alone, his gaze settled on her.
"Who… are you?" he asked, his voice rough from disuse.

Explaining the marriage was awkward.
"So… you married me… for her?" he said, looking toward Meera, who peeked shyly from behind Aditi’s saree.

"For her, yes," Aditi replied. "Not for you."

But her voice wavered.
