Runaway Bride – The Lost & Found Love - Chapter 5
Chapter 5: The Meeting
The small handicrafts company in Pushkar buzzed with unusual excitement that morning. The staff had been informed that a very influential businessman from Mumbai was arriving to discuss a potential collaboration. Files were polished, cups of tea prepared, and everyone was on edge.
But Aditi?
She was unaware of the storm about to break into her life.
Dressed in a simple sky-blue cotton suit, she sat at her desk, adjusting the paperwork. The soft desert sunlight streamed through the windows, making her look almost ethereal — innocent, fragile, and untouched by the chaos of the corporate world.
Her manager rushed in, wiping sweat from his forehead.
Manager (excitedly): “Aditi ji, please arrange the contract files neatly. Raichand Enterprises is visiting us today. Do you know what that means for us? If this deal happens, our company will reach international markets!”
The name barely registered in her mind. She smiled politely, unaware of the weight that single word — Raichand — carried for her.
The Arrival
Outside, a convoy of sleek black cars stopped in front of the office. The desert dust swirled around the polished vehicles, contrasting power against simplicity.
The staff whispered nervously, adjusting their clothes as the man himself stepped out.
Tall, commanding, dressed in an impeccable charcoal suit that seemed almost out of place in the dusty town. His sunglasses hid his sharp eyes, but his aura alone was enough to silence the world.
The manager hurried to greet him, but Aditya’s gaze swept past everyone, scanning, searching, desperate… until it landed on her.
For a moment, time stopped.
The First Glance After a Year
Aditi had just looked up from the files when her eyes met his.
Her breath hitched. The papers slipped from her trembling hands, scattering on the floor. Her heart pounded wildly.
Aditi (inner voice, panicked): No… no, this can’t be real. He’s here? He found me?
Aditya, on the other hand, froze. His chest tightened, his mask of steel cracking as relief flooded him. For one year, he had lived in torment, and now… she stood right there. Safe. Alive. Beautiful as ever.
A slow, rare smile curved on his lips. His eyes softened in a way they never did for anyone else.
Aditya (inner voice, tenderly): Finally, my little rabbit. I’ve got you.
The Silent War of Eyes
She stumbled back a step, panic rising in her veins. Her first instinct screamed — Run!
But his gaze held her captive. It wasn’t anger. It wasn’t rage. It was something far more dangerous — love laced with determination.
The manager, oblivious to their history, began introducing employees.
Manager: “And this is Aditi Sharma, she handles documentation and client coordination—”
Aditya (cutting in, voice deep, eyes never leaving her): “I know her.”
The room went still.
Aditi’s lips parted, but no words came out. Her throat was dry, her palms clammy.
Her Panic
As soon as the meeting formally began, Aditi tried to escape quietly, clutching her dupatta like a shield. But Aditya’s sharp eyes caught the movement instantly.
He excused himself smoothly from the conversation and followed her down the corridor.
Aditya (voice low, controlled, behind her): “Aditi.”
She froze mid-step. The sound of her name in his voice after so long… it shattered her walls.
Slowly, she turned, her eyes wide with fear and unshed tears.
Aditi (whispering, broken): “Why… why did you come here?”
Aditya took a step closer, his eyes drinking her in.
Aditya (soft, almost relieved): “Because you left me with no choice. Do you even know what you did to me, Aditi? For a year, I searched for you. For a year, I couldn’t sleep, thinking you might be in danger.”
Her lips quivered.
Aditi (defensive, choking): “I… I didn’t want to be caged anymore. You never understood me!”
Aditya’s jaw tightened, but his voice remained gentle. He lifted a hand, almost touching her cheek but stopping midway.
Aditya (deeply, firmly): “Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I didn’t give you the freedom you wanted. But Aditi… you’re mine. And I will never let you vanish from my life again.”
The Tension Breaks
Her eyes filled with tears. Her instinct screamed to run, but her heart… her heart longed to collapse into his arms.
But before she could decide, Aditya closed the gap between them, his presence wrapping around her like a storm.
Aditya (in a whisper only she could hear): “Run again if you want… but remember, I will always find you. Always.”
And for the first time in a year, she felt the chains of his love around her again — unbreakable, unyielding.
