Runaway Bride – The Lost & Found Love - Chapter 2

Chapter 2: The Search

The Raichand mansion, usually a symbol of calm discipline, had turned into a storm the moment Aditi disappeared. Servants rushed around nervously, assistants received call after call, and in the center of it all stood Aditya Raichand — sharp suit still on, tie loosened, eyes burning with an intensity no one dared to face.

The man who never bowed before anyone, who negotiated billion-dollar deals with a single look, was now pacing like a lion trapped in his own cage.

His head of security, Raghav, entered cautiously.
Raghav: “Sir… we’ve checked the station CCTV. Madam boarded a local train. After that… her trail disappears.”

Aditya’s jaw clenched. He slammed his fist on the glass table, the crack spreading like his frustration.

Aditya (coldly): “Disappear? My wife cannot just disappear in this city, Raghav. I want every camera, every cab, every damn bus station checked. She couldn’t have gone far.”

Raghav nodded quickly and left.

Aditya sank into the leather chair, pressing his temples. For the first time in years, fear gnawed at him.

“Where will she go? She doesn’t even know how cruel this world can be. She thinks she’s independent… but she trusts too easily. What if someone tricks her? What if—”

He shut his eyes tightly, refusing to imagine the worst. Memories flooded him—her childish laughter echoing through the mansion, the way she sulked when he scolded her, the innocent sparkle in her eyes whenever she got excited about something as small as street food.

“Damn it, Aditi. You don’t know what you’ve done to me.”

The Search Spreads

Days turned into weeks. Aditya’s search spread beyond Mumbai. Private investigators, his corporate contacts, even his rivals—everyone knew that the mighty Aditya Raichand was hunting for his missing wife.

He used his influence everywhere. Police stations received “anonymous” tips with her description. His men traveled city to city, tracing any woman who even remotely looked like her.

But Aditi seemed to have vanished into thin air.

At business meetings, Aditya’s mind wandered. During press conferences, his eyes scanned the crowds, hoping she’d appear. At night, he lay awake in their empty bed, staring at her side of the pillow, untouched, cold.

The Emotional Turmoil

One evening, he sat alone in their bedroom, her scarf clutched in his hand.

Aditya (whispering to himself): “You wanted freedom, Aditi… but did you think about me? About what your absence does to me? You think I’m stone-hearted, but without you… I’m nothing but a man drowning.”

His phone buzzed. Raghav again.
Raghav: “Sir, still no trace. We even checked Jaipur, Pune, Nashik…”

Aditya’s patience snapped.
Aditya (furious): “I don’t care if you have to turn the whole country upside down, Raghav. Find her! Before something happens to her.”

But as the call ended, his fury melted into helplessness. He buried his face in his hands, his voice breaking softly—words no one ever heard from the great Aditya Raichand:
“Please, Aditi… be safe. Until I find you.”

The Silent Year

Months passed. Seasons changed.
The mansion remained the same—grand, shining, cold. But Aditya had changed. His once razor-sharp focus dulled. His empire still grew, but he no longer celebrated victories. His world, no matter how powerful, felt incomplete.

Every night before sleeping, he whispered into the darkness, as if she could hear him:
“You can run, Aditi… but I’ll always find you. Because you are mine.”

And then… one day, a clue arrived.
