Written Between the Lines - Chapter 12 (Last)
Chapter 12: Rhea’s Last Move… and the Final Test of Love
The morning after Aditi chose to stay, the air felt different.
Not because the problems had disappeared — but because now, they stood together.
They resumed working, laughing, even stealing glances during meetings. Their bond wasn’t perfect, but it was real. And they were rebuilding it—brick by brick.
But far away, someone wasn’t celebrating.
Rhea Malhotra sat in a sleek café across from a man in a crisp suit — a Mehra board member. One of the few who still disliked the idea of Aditya giving equal authority to Aditi.
“So you’re saying she’s involved in the contract leak?” the man asked.
Rhea smirked.
“I’m not saying anything. I’m just sharing what I found.”
She slid a flash drive across the table.
“If this gets out, Aditi Singhania’s image—and the Mehra-Singhania alliance—won’t survive.”
The Rumor
Two days later, an anonymous leak shook the business world.
“Aditi Mehra accused of leaking confidential data to foreign investors.”
“Was love just a cover-up?”
“Internal betrayal suspected within the Mehra empire!”
The board panicked.
The Singhanias demanded proof.
The Mehras were in shock.
And Aditya… stood frozen.
His father slammed the newspaper down in the boardroom.
“Aditya, if this is true, we need to act. Step away from her.”
Aditya stood up, calm but burning inside.
“No. I won’t step away until I hear her side.”
The Confrontation
Aditya burst into the penthouse, the file in hand.
Aditi looked up from her laptop, stunned by his urgency.
“Is it true?” he asked — not with accusation, but desperation.
“What are you talking about?”
He dropped the printed leak on the table. Her eyes scanned it.
Shock. Pain. Then anger.
“You think I’d do this?”
“No,” he said immediately. “I don’t. But the world does. And we need to fight it.”
She looked at him—eyes wet, heart pounding.
“You believe me?”
“I love you,” he replied. “That includes believing you when it’s hardest.”
The Truth Revealed
With Aditi’s help, they traced the source of the leak. A backdoor server login. A dummy ID.
And at the center of it all — Rhea Malhotra.
Aditya confronted her at her hotel suite.
“You did all this… just to ruin what I have with her?”
Rhea laughed bitterly.
“No, Adi. I did this because I knew she’d break you. She’d make you weak. And I wasn’t wrong.”
“You’re right,” he said softly. “She broke the old me—the one who only knew how to win. She taught me how to love.”
He walked away without another word.
Rhea stood silent… defeated not by power, but by emotion.
The Redemption
Aditi was cleared. The truth went public.
The board apologized. The media corrected.
But more than that—the trust between them became unshakable.
Final Scene
On their anniversary, Aditya took her to the same conference room where they first “met” over the arranged marriage proposal.
But this time—he had rewritten the contract.
“This is our new deal,” he smiled. “No conditions. No signatures. Just a lifetime offers.”
Aditi opened it. Inside was a handwritten note:
“From merger to forever — if you’ll still have me.”
She looked up, smiling through tears.
“Only if the contract includes this clause— ‘unconditional, undivided, and unapologetic love.’”
He pulled her close.
And this time, the merger wasn’t between companies…
It was between two hearts.
