Written Between the Lines - Chapter 10
Chapter 10: Secrets, Shadows, and the Storm Ahead
A week passed since Aditi’s powerful press statement.
She had become a symbol of strength—balancing business and personal life like a queen in her court.
Aditya, too, had grown closer to her—emotionally and professionally.
But just as they found peace, the storm knocked again… this time from within.
The Hidden File
It was a quiet evening. Aditya had gone for a late meeting. Aditi, organizing their shared cabinet, found an old folder labeled "Singhania Deal – Confidential."
Curious, she opened it.
What she saw changed everything.
Inside were legal drafts—dated months before their marriage was arranged. And attached to them... was an internal Mehra report titled:
“Acquisition Proposal: Singhania Group via Matrimonial Alliance”
Her hands trembled.
The words felt like betrayal carved on fine paper.
There were calculations, risk assessments, even notes from Aditya's assistant saying:
“Aditya believes marriage may be the fastest route to quieten Singhania board tensions.”
Aditi’s vision blurred.
Was the marriage ever about love? Or just a strategic move in his business game?
Confrontation
Aditya entered the room, loosening his tie.
“Hey, you’re still up—”
“What is this?” she asked, holding out the file.
His face fell.
“Aditi, listen—”
“No,” she cut him off, voice trembling. “You wanted me to trust you. To believe this marriage was becoming real. And all this time, it was part of some—some acquisition plan?”
“That was before I even knew you!” he defended. “Before I understood who you were. Before I—”
“Fell for me?” she snapped. “Is that what you’ll say now? That it turned into love along the way?”
Silence. Guilt.
“Say it, Aditya. Say it wasn’t just business.”
He swallowed hard.
“I don’t know when it stopped being business. But I know now... it’s not.”
Her eyes welled up.
“But the foundation was fake. And everything after that… feels like a lie.”
She walked away.
And for the first time in years, Aditya Mehra didn’t have a strategy. He just stood there… defeated.
Elsewhere...
Rhea sat by the window of her hotel suite, sipping wine.
A sly smile crept on her lips as her phone pinged.
New message from: Unknown Source
“She found the file. The storm has started.”
Rhea whispered to herself, “Perfect.”
