Written Between the Lines - Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The Business Proposal

The sprawling boardroom of Mehra Enterprises buzzed with tension. At the head of the long table sat Raj Mehra, a man known as the lion of the corporate world. Facing him across the table was Vikram Singhania, his long-time rival and equal in power. No one had imagined the day these two titans would sit face to face without a legal battle in between.

Their eyes locked.
The air was thick with years of cold war.

But today wasn’t about war.
It was about a deal.

“We merge our companies. And to secure that merger… Aditya and Aditi will marry.”

Silence followed. Not one gasp, not one whisper — just stunned, frozen expressions. Especially from the two people at the center of it all.

Aditya Mehra, sharp in his tailored charcoal suit, sat with his jaw clenched. Always calm, always in control, but now — shaken.

Aditi Singhania, dressed in soft ivory and elegance, blinked once. Her fingers tightened over the diary she always carried. She had walked into this meeting as a businesswoman. She never thought she'd walk out as someone's fiancée.

“This isn’t a marriage,” Aditya finally said. “It’s a contract.”

“That’s what all marriages are at first,” his father replied coldly.

And with that, the deal was sealed.
