Chains of Obsession - Chapter 5

Chapter 5: Captive Desires

The first thing Aditya heard was the sound of soft humming.

Low. Melodic. Twisted.

Then came the scent of vanilla and jasmine—faint, sweet, suffocating.

His vision blurred, light piercing his eyes as he groaned. Every muscle ached, and his wrists… they hurt.

He tried to move.

Clink.

Chains.

His breath hitched. Eyes shot open.

The room was dimly lit, soft golden lamps casting shadows over blood-red curtains and an extravagant canopy bed. Silk sheets beneath him. Velvet ropes above him.

His wrists—bound to the headboard.

His ankles—tied to the foot of the bed.

His suit jacket gone. Shirt buttons open.

And then—her voice.

“Finally… you're awake.”

He turned.

There she was.

Aditi.

Dressed in black satin, eyes lined in kohl, lips deep crimson. Not the soft, timid girl from hotel lobbies and coffee shops. No. This version of Aditi was unrecognizable.

Dangerously calm.

Unapologetically beautiful.

And utterly unhinged.

The Confession

“Don’t scream,” she said sweetly, placing a finger on his lips. “No one will hear you anyway.”

He stared at her, expression unreadable. Calculating. Silent.

She smiled at his control.

“I want to talk. And you’re going to listen.”

She pulled a chair closer to the bed, sitting at his side like a lover at the edge of a shared morning.

“Do you remember the rain? The first time you saw me?”

He didn’t respond.

So she continued.

“That night changed everything. You looked at me like I was nothing… but to me, you were everything.”

Her eyes grew glassy—emotional, almost childlike.

“You became my world, Aditya. My sky. My reason to wake up.”

She stood, pacing slowly.

“I followed you. I watched you. Not because I’m crazy—but because I love you. Because I needed to be close.”

Aditya’s lips twitched. Not in fear. In recognition.

He’d seen obsession before. In business. In enemies. But this…

This was personal.

Possession, Not Love

“I know it’s hard to understand. You’re not used to people loving you this deeply. Obsessively.”

She leaned closer, tracing his chest with her fingers.

“I want you to need me, Aditya. The way I need you.”

Her eyes flickered darkly.

“And if you don’t… I’ll make you.”

Aditya finally spoke—his voice hoarse but steady.

“You drugged me. You chained me. You call that love?”

Aditi’s lips curled.

“It’s better than being ignored. You wouldn’t even see me. I had no choice.”

“You always had a choice,” he said coldly.

She tilted her head, amused.

“You think I care about right or wrong anymore?”

She stood up, letting her fingers slide across his jaw.

“You’ll thank me, one day. When you realize no one will ever love you like I do.”

Then she leaned in, pressing her lips softly to his forehead.

“Tonight is ours. No boardrooms. No empires. Just you… and me.”

She turned, heading toward the bathroom, humming that same lullaby.

“Wait for me, baby. I’ll be right back.”

The Empty Bed

Minutes passed.

Aditya lay still, eyes sharp, muscles tight. He had been testing the cuffs. They weren’t unbreakable.

And she made one mistake.

She underestimated him.

When Aditi returned, the candlelight flickered gently…

And the bed was empty.

The chains—broken.

The cuffs—loosened.

Her breath caught in her throat.

“Aditya?”

No reply.

Panic struck.

She searched every room. Flung open doors. Shouted his name. Opened closets, peeked under furniture.

Nothing.

“No… no no no…”

She collapsed to her knees in the middle of the bedroom, heart pounding, hands trembling.

Then—everything went black.

Her body hit the floor.

Unconscious.
